The crew and I went over to Pillager Hardwoods to buy some birch slab, and try out my new trailer to see if it could handle the one ton weight of the slabwood. The kids were patient, and I drove slow, and the trailer worked well. 20 miles from my place to the mill, and when it is cut to length, I should have about .75 cords of birch, cut, split and stacked for around 50 bucks, including the gas over to the mill.
Here are some pics. from our slabwood run.
