Captains of the Sands by Jorge Amado, is being added to my summer reading list, thanks to a recommendation by a friend of mine that spent a year in Brazil.
I recommended Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates by Tom Robbins. It is a fun book to read, and check out the link above for more info. on the book, as stated by the author himself.
In other searches, I was able to find a link to a letter Tom Robbins wrote to Hilary Lindsay concerning creative writing programs. I found this information to be very interesting. Hope your summer involves many hours of reading in a lawn chair with a sweaty cold drink in your hand!
