I really like a permanent ice house vs. the tarp or portable for fishing, but when it comes to taking it off the lake a portable is the only way to go. For some reason, people come out of the wood work to put the ice house on the lake, but in the spring when the ice is melting most friends won't answer the phone when it is time to take the ice house off the lake. I really like the plans and descriptions to this small build. Please post your result if you have built an ice house.
