I enjoyed this video on the process Gaby Dunn uses for performing stand up comedy in LA. The video is dated, but it was still really informative and showed the difficulties associated with putting oneself out there and trying to make an unknown crowd laugh.

Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza
Extravaganza is POSTPONED to February 6, 2016!
Brainerd Jaycees contest officials and the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office have decided to postpone the charitable ice fishing contest held on Gull Lake until February 6 in the interest of safety. “The warm weather has had an adverse effect on the lake ice; the result being inconsistent ice thickness through-out our lakes. The safety for our volunteers, personnel and those attending the event is the Sheriff’s Office main concern. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Brainerd Jaycees for all the dedication and support that has been offered and look forward to a fun and safe event in the very near future,” Lieutenant Scott Goddard stated.
“With the latest cold snap, we were optimistic the ice would be ready for us, but Mother Nature had another plan,” Chairperson Angie Nelson said, “however, it's critical that we make sure the contest site is safe. This announcement will hopefully allow our participants enough time to adjust their plans to join us in three weeks.”

Brainerd Jaycee's Ice Fishing Extravaganza: 2016
It has been a mild winter in terms of temperature in Brainerd, Minnesota, and as of my last post on the Jaycee's Ice Fishing Extravaganza, I was very doubtful the event would take place on Jan. 23 as scheduled. However, in the past two weeks, Hole in the Day Bay on Gull Lake has been covered in ice, and a few houses have sprung up in the bay. If the meteorologists are correct, the highs this upcoming weekend will only be the in single digits above zero. This should allow for a good layer of ice, and I am confident the event will take place on the originally scheduled date.
This is a great ice fishing event that benefits charities, and I have been going for the last few years. I haven't caught any fish, but attending the event is worth it just for the people watching and the unique experience.

26TH ANNUAL ICE FISHING EXTRAVAGANZA TICKETS AVAILABLE SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1st.
Brainerd, MN – The Brainerd Jaycees 26th Annual Ice Fishing Extravaganza is set for January 23, on Gull Lake’s Hole in the Day Bay, north of Brainerd, MN. This year’s prize list is valued at nearly $200,000. Contest tickets are available for a discounted price of $30 November 1-30 at all Mills Fleet Farm locations, and the Mills Indoor Shooting & Archery Center. As of December 1, contest tickets will be available for $50 at all ticket outlets through the event date.
The 26th Anniversary has much in store, including the Catch of the Day Extravaganza Give-Away, Lindy Bounty cash prize, and a Kick-Off party featuring Dueces Wild Dueling Piano Show. If you cannot attend the event, there is also the Extravaganza raffle, with total prizes valued at $40,000. Tickets for this are $10 each and can be purchased from several Brainerd area charities and at all Minnesota ticket outlets.
The Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza is completely volunteer run and all event proceeds are donated to area charities. The primary beneficiary is Confidence Learning Center, an outdoor recreational facility and camp for individuals with developmental disabilities. However, over 60 organizations in the Brainerd Lakes Area have received donations throughout the event’s history, which has exceeded $3.3 million in total. Palerider's Weekly Trucking Vlog #44-New Year/New Tires/Service
In this episode, Palerider shows the importance of patience in the trucking industry. I could feel myself getting frustrated while watching the mix ups and disorganization he had to endure on this New Years Eve run from Dallas to Alabama. It must take the patience of Job to keep quiet when dealing with all of the poor communication found between shippers and dispatchers. I appreciate the great attitude and videos shared by Palerider, a true professional in the commercial trucking industry.

Van Bunk Bed Pictures, Links, and DIY Projects
For expediters, RV living, or any type of thrifty travel, these vans will give you an idea of how to live well on four wheels.
In this van, the owner has built in a bunk with storage underneath. It also has some nice features including a skylight, fridge, and plenty of storage, along with a divider between the living area and cab. which allow the space to be heated or cooled easier.

This is an example of an easy solution to using the back of your van as a sleeping quarters. The plywood can be folded out into a platform for sleeping when their is no cargo, and folded back up and put away to make room for cargo.
